Panayotis Tsakonas is Professor of International Relations, Security Studies and Foreign Policy Analysis at the University of Athens, Director of the MA Program "Global Governance and Security" and of the "Lab on Migration and Diaspora Studies" at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and Head of the Program of Foreign Policy and Security at ELIAMEP. He taught for fifteen years at the University of the Aegean and at various Universities and institutions in Greece, Turkey, United Kingdom, Germany, the United States and Canada. He has been post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University, NATO Research Fellow, Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Yale University and Academic Visitor at St Antony's College, Oxford University. He worked as Special Advisor at the Ministries of National Defense and Foreign Affairs and he served as President of the BoD of the Center for Security Studies/KE.ME.A. His monographs, books, articles in professional journals and contributions in edited volumes have been published in Greek, English, German, French and Italian.
