Dr Burcu Özçelik is a Senior Research Fellow and Lead for Middle East, North Africa and Turkey Security at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London. Her research focuses on regional security, conflict, stabilisation, diplomacy and geopolitical change across the Middle East and its wider neighbourhood. She has written and commented widely on issues including armed conflict, regional power competition, maritime security and post-war recovery, and regularly contributes to policy discussions, media analysis and high-level dialogues on these themes.
